Land Ho!
I'm on land, I've made it home, and I'm officially a Land Ho. Being at sea and away from my husband, my dog and the cats, my plants, and my home for five weeks has instilled in me a strong desire to not ever go out to sea again. An Oceanographer who doesn't want to go to sea should be called a "Land Ho," and my recent trip has turned me into one. Considering my current job and research interests, I hope that this newfound desire to be on land indefinitely is temporary, but you never know. The idea of spending five long weeks away from my family and my home (and any form of Internet connection) again is utterly repulsive! Makes me shudder just thinking about it.
I missed my daily blog reading very much, and often wondered how everyone was and what they were working on. I also composed many blog posts in my head that never came to fruition (I encourage you to write to your congressional leaders and ask that your tax dollars be used to pay for satellite Internet connections for all federal research ships. Many thanks in advance for your assistance).
Anyway, a full post will be forthcoming once I get my photos in order and 400 emails sorted through. I'll see you all on your blogs soon!
