About Me

I am an Oceanographer. This blog is an ongoing narrative of my creative endeavors, which mostly involve knitting and spinning.

I grew up in a Republican stronghold of Orange County, CA, called Huntington Beach. If it weren't for all of the damn people and rampant consumerism, I would move back some day. I think I would be much happier in a peaceful place like Canada, but that is a digression.

I went to the University of California at Santa Barbara and got my BS in Aquatic Biology. I am presently in graduate school at Oregon State University, working toward my Ph.D. in Oceanography. Yes, I do get to go out to sea on ships. It's not glamorous, but it sure is neat. I digress. Again.

I generally spend my free time knitting, quilting, reading, or watching movies. When it is nice outside I love to go camping, hiking, and snowboarding.

My present educational goal is to finish school without hating myself or the institution. I think I would much rather be employed as a creative person, or perhaps own my own yarn shop-slash-cafe, but for now it's school for this super nerd.

I guess that that wasn't a very linear biography. Heh - more proof I should switch from biology to design. Doh well.
